Sometimes the hardest part about change is hearing it for the first time. For many reasons, the changes that IBEW, Local 494 made to some of their classifications earlier this year, caused some concern for its members – even with a resounding ‘yes’ vote at the meeting where the changes were accepted.

Life, business and relationships are about give and take. Making sure you are doing what needs to be done to keep working, business moving in the right direction, and staying on task have been our industry’s priorities. Over the past five years there has been a lot of give and take from both labor and management, and I am hopeful lessons learned during this time period won’t soon be forgotten.
Making a positive impact and working hard were two of Nacarci ‘Carci’ Feaster’s lifelong pursuits. He knew early on about the great things that can come from life by watching his grandfather earn a living as a Laborer, and being a “jack of all trades.” Today, Carci is a newly retired Laborer from Local 113, and knows that being a part of the union meant so much to him and his family.
