It has been an exceptional year in economic development planning in Milwaukee, and a large part of that is thanks to Milwaukee County Department of Administrative Services Director Teig Whaley-Smith. He’s been hard to miss, attending countless City and County meetings and public hearings to present his department’s plans to build up our currently under-utilized lakefront and vacant Park East land, among other projects.

His recent victories include significant projects like the new Milwaukee Bucks’ arena and the Couture, both of which came after long battles at the state and local levels.
Jeannie Lauret, CEO of Duwe Metal Products, Inc. has been working hard to internally rejuvenate her company while continuing to look for ways to grow the business. She was recently awarded a contract on one of the biggest projects in Milwaukee, and has worked to ensure that local workforce requirements are met in the process.
A coalition of building trades unions, educational and community groups, and private industry are sponsoring the one day event that will have interactive displays and exhibits for students and the general public to provide insights into careers in the infrastructure, construction, and energy industries.
2015 has been an exceptional year for the union construction industry here in southeastern Wisconsin. Cranes have begun to fill the skyline over Milwaukee, and we are very proud of the work we have done here at Building Advantage.
