New Beginnings
The face of Milwaukee is beginning to take a new shape thanks to your hard work and dedication. At Building Advantage we are very proud of each trade and how they are changing the landscape of Milwaukee. We are also proud of the work that labor and management have done to keep progress moving forward in the Southeastern Wisconsin construction industry.
One example of the strides that labor and management in this industry have made is the Port Washington Generating Station. In this issue, you will read about the Generating Station, which recently reached two million safe work hours, received VPP Star Status from OSHA and is the first heavy industry project to receive this prestigious safety recognition. What a tremendous achievement on a project of this size. It speaks volumes about the training and safety the unions and their employers take so seriously and how we can accomplish great things by working together.
On a different note, I have accepted the offer to serve as the chief executive officer of the ACEA. With the extensive involvement of the ACEA with the CLMC in the past, I will continue in a strong supportive role of the advancement of our industry. I have been asked to continue as interim executive director of the CLMC – as well as Building Advantage – to complete the administrative tasks of the council until my replacement is found.
I sincerely want to thank each of you for your support over the past four years as it has been a very positive personal experience for me. The success of the CLMC is a direct reflection of your personal involvement and commitment to this great industry.
It is a pleasure to work with great people, and I look forward to continuing these relationships into the future.
Sincerely,
John Topp, Executive Director
