Building Advantage has been recognized with two national awards from the Columbia School of Business and the 2007 National Labor Management Competition for its achievements
in marketing, advertising and recruitment. The awards presented to Building Advantage were an honorable mention for the Power of One job site tour and a best practices award for the Building Advantage Web site.
Vincent Toran Apprenticeship Preparation Lab
On October 4, 2007, about 150 people attended a fundraiser to honor Vincent Toran and name an apprenticeship preparation lab in his honor. Toran is well-known in the Milwaukee area for training apprentices while striving to help prove themselves in inhospitable settings. Community leaders estimate that Toran assisted more than 1,300 men and women with apprenticeship training in the building trades and manufacturing. Building Advantage would like to thank Mr. Toran for his service to his community and the trades.
Small Things Make a Big Difference
Building Advantage is asking union members to help make a difference this holiday season. Local 494 needs our help raising money for the Ronald McDonald House by collecting pop tabs from soda cans, which can be dropped off at the Local 494 headquarters.
