Union Trades Give Back

On the weekend of August 25-26, 2007, local construction union members took time to give back to their community, participating in the Zoological Society of Milwaukee's Children's Weekend at the Zoo. Union members put a smile on the faces of local children while teaching them the “Tricks of the Trade.” Over 325 birdhouses were made by the children with the help of retired carpenters, carpenter apprentices, members of the Construction Labor Management Council (CLMC), Southeast Wisconsin Carpentry Training Center (SEWCTC), the Joint Apprenticeship Committee (JAC), the Residential Union Carpentry Contractors Association and Building Service Inc. Many thanks go out to all those who participated in this event.
