Job Site Tour Revs Up Again

The Power of One Job Site Tour is on the move again. We have recently visited two job sites and are pleased with how the lunches and the Building Advantage messages have been received. It is always a rewarding experience to go on a site and thank the men and women for their hard work, especially during some of the hottest days in the season.

The first stop this year was at the Oak Creek Middle School project on July 9. This is the latest phase of construction Building Advantage has visited a job site, and it was nice to see the painters and finish carpenters, along with the many other trades, working hard to meet the school district's deadline. We were happy to bring lunches to over 75 workers at the project.

Working with Adam Lewis, VJS project manager, was a great experience, and the $29 million building really turned out to be a beautiful project. Thanks to Adam and VJS for using Building Advantage members and for a job well done.

On July 17, the Building Advantage crew visited the Park Lafayette Condominiums near downtown Milwaukee overlooking Lake Michigan. Ken Kraemer, Building Advantage executive director, gave his praise for the trades workers' dedication to making union construction the best in the industry and brought along 180 lunches to feed the hungry workers.

Mike Christensen, Hunzinger senior project manager, thanked the workers for making the job site safe and for their hard work bringing the project nearer to completion. Thanks to Doug Bruening from Hunzinger for giving Building Advantage the opportunity to be a part of its job site, and for giving Ken a tour to see the quality of work Hunzinger and its workers deliver day in and day out.

Both of the job sites this year show how union contractors represent the best in the industry. The skill sets and safety training needed to build projects like schools, condominiums and many other high-profile projects are placed into the hands of Building Advantage contractors and trades workers. The commitment and dedication of union contractors is the reason for the highest standard of excellence brought to the job site.
