Making Progress and Seeing Results

As the new executive director of Building Advantage, my first few months have been full of activity, and I am amazed by all of the progress going on around Southeastern Wisconsin.

I've had the privilege of visiting our members on the Power of One Job Site Tour this summer and saw some very exciting projects. It is evident by these job sites that our crafts workers are upholding the high standards of excellence that the union trades take pride in. I've also noticed how imperative sound relationships with general contractors, sub-contractors and building owners are to the union's success. I'm making the commitment to all Building Advantage members that I will work to strengthen current relationships and forge new ones with generals, sub-contractors, owners and you – Building Advantage members.

Our members noted they enjoy reading about some interesting projects that are underway across the area. In this issue you will read about the Park Lafayette Condominiums that Hunzinger Construction allowed us to be a part of during the Job Site Tour. You will also find information on the successful Marquette Interchange Project that came in under budget and a few months early, all thanks to the many union trades who spent years working at the site.

Thanks to all of you who have welcomed me into my new role in Building Advantage. I promise that I will continue to uphold the standards each of you work towards each day, and I will do my best at moving the industry forward by securing more projects for Building Advantage members.

Sincerely,
Ken Kraemer, Executive Director
Construction Labor Management Council
