Remaining Optimistic and Focused

I have spent a lot of time working with local and state business leaders, politicians and other decision makers on Wisconsin's future. Our focus has been to develop a plan outlining how infrastructure, healthcare and education — all three of which are very important to our industry — will affect our state's future. You can read more about the plan by going to buildingadvantage.org and clicking on the home-page banner.

Our Executive Board has also spent time finding ways to cut unemployment back to pre-recession levels and secure more work for our members. By continuing to improve how we partner with all sides of the industry and being more proactive when engaging customers, we have made many steps in the right direction.

The positive news stories and reports about the manufacturing industry's recent growth is carrying over into construction. Through building additions and new job creation, our industry is benefiting, and we hope this trend continues for all trades.

A lot has happened in the past year in regards to state leadership, and we are optimistic on how this will impact us. Through our continued efforts, we have positioned ourselves to partner with the new leadership. We know that the key to our future success is having an open mind on how to partner with business leaders, politicians and decision makers in the future. As always, I look forward to your feedback.
