Relationships and Hard Work are Paying Off

The recent announcement that the Moderne (a project that will last 22 months and break ground in fall) received HUD approval proves to me that when the industry comes together, great things can happen. I'm proud of the work our Building Advantage members did to get it approved, and I know the project will go above and beyond everyone's expectations.

Building Advantage's continued efforts have focused on getting our members work by partnering with customers and contractors. By playing an active and early role in Everest College's expansion into Milwaukee, our members are seeing the benefits of our work.

Additionally, by using what we've learned from successful relationships with Marquette University and UW-Milwaukee, we are helping all of our customers better understand the benefits of using Building Advantage members.

The whole idea behind Building Advantage — labor and management working together to secure as much work as possible — is apparent as you read through this issue's stories. Our combined efforts are working, and are reflections of the work we do together to benefit the union construction industry.

I'm proud of the examples in this issue, and will continue to work hard at promoting the work Building Advantage members perform to make the stories possible. As always, I look forward to your feedback.
