A Helpful Recruiting Tool
Building Advantage has recently developed an interactive CD as an educational tool for use in many platforms.
The result is a remarkable representation of what life is like as a member of the union trades. The CD offers information on union apprenticeships, including requirements, testimonials from current apprentices, and links to testing and training opportunities, such as BIG STEP and the JATCs.
Additionally, viewers can take a virtual tour through each of the union trades. The CD highlights the main functions and tools of each trade and gives potential recruits the basic statistics on the entry requirements for each field, average wages and benefits packages, as well as contact information.
Most recently, the CD was handed out at the Union Construction Career Fair. It was given to the 600+ students in attendance and the instructors for use in the classroom. The instructors are excited to have an educational tool that will help show the students a world that a classroom can't always do justice.
