Focus on the Positives
You've probably noticed all of the road construction going on right now, from large projects like the Zoo Interchange to smaller road projects in nearly every city. I'm happy to see these projects up and running — they helped the road-building crews go back to work a month earlier than usual and will keep them busy through the end of the year.
I recently met with the WisDOT regarding its six-year plan, which will keep our workload consistent with HVAC, electrical and road construction. I also attended several meetings at UW-Milwaukee about Research Park near Froedtert Hospital, and we are still heavily involved with making sure the Moderne becomes another shining example of labor and management working together.
Inside this issue you'll find success stories about organizations like Marquette University that over the years have done nearly $350 million worth of work with Building Advantage members. You'll also read about Laborers Local 113 and Staff Electric, two Building Advantage member groups that do their part to keep their members and employees hard at work.
I'm also happy to report that Building Advantage has moved into new offices and we continue to work hard at promoting the union construction industry. As always, if you have questions, please contact me at 262-229-5959.
