Building Opportunities for the Future

2007 was a successful year – the Port Washington power plant was recognized by OSHA for completing two million safe work hours and the University Club Tower condominiums were completed. The Milwaukee skyline and the suburban landscape are filled with signatory contractor projects that are continuing safely, while on-time and on-budget. Our sincere gratitude is extended to all of the customers who are committed to the excellence in craftsmanship and project management that is provided by our united industry.

In this issue of The Power of One, you will read about several initiatives that Building Advantage is taking in an effort to grow the union construction industry in Southeastern Wisconsin – through career fairs and conferences directed at both new partnerships and new members.

We will also begin a profile series on the Construction Labor Management Council's (CLMC) Board of Directors. Through each issue, you will have a chance to learn a little more about the union leaders and contractors who represent you and volunteer their time and effort to make the CLMC an effective organization.

2008 is forecast to be another healthy year for the construction industry in Wisconsin. Let's continue to strive for excellence as we move forward – and hope for an early spring to get a head start.

Thank you for your support.
