2010 Career Fair:

Tomorrow's Workforce Today

As many of you know, each year Building Advantage hosts a Career Fair where all of our construction trades unions bring hands-on demonstrations to area high school students. On Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the Waukesha County Expo Center, we will introduce tomorrow's workforce to a career in the trades.

It is important for the construction industry to attract the next generation of members. If you have a family member or friend who is looking for a rewarding career, be sure to contact us regarding the event. The Career Fair provides an opportunity for individuals to see firsthand what it takes to perform a trade. We will also bring in local general contractors to tell the attendees what to expect once they are on a project.

Since the average age of an apprentice is 28 years old, Building Advantage and local unions and contractors have been working hard to reach out to high schools and show the students a viable and rewarding career in the trades. However, we still need your help in our efforts to keep our industry moving forward.

If you have any questions about the 2010 Career Fair, please contact Erika Duelge at (414) 897-1146 or eduelge@buildingadvantage.org.
