Collaborative Efforts Keep Union Strong
It comes as no surprise that our industry is facing difficult times, and although we are seeing some movement with projects, there is a ways to go before things really turn around.
Taking all of this into consideration, we are making some changes at Building Advantage to better serve our members and continue doing our part to secure more work. We have hired Erika Duelge, a full-time marketing professional, to cut operating expenses while creating efficiencies within our organization. Her role will be to continue promoting Building Advantage through marketing, public relations and building relationships with our target audiences.
By hiring Erika, I am able to continue focusing on getting more projects to come our way. I am taking a more active role in attending Common Council meetings, sitting down with developers and opening up the lines of communication with our end users — all in the hopes of securing more work.
We saw how powerful our industry can be when working together on projects like the Moderne. Many of our industry leaders worked hard to get this project passed. It was important to put our union contractors and members back to work while putting money back into the local economy. This project was a huge win for us, and I'll continue to work toward building the necessary relationships to keep us moving forward.
