It’s hard to go anywhere in Wisconsin without passing by or through an active construction site, a big change from the years surrounding the recession. So, it’s no surprise that apprenticeship numbers have also been on the steady rise. According to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, apprenticeship numbers for the state are the highest they’ve been since 2009. We recently had the opportunity to meet with most of the training coordinators for southeastern Wisconsin and they reinforced this statement, agreeing that they have some of largest apprenticeship classes they have seen in a long time. In addition, orientation sessions have been yielding consistently high numbers.

With more projects in the pipeline, we’re hopeful that this trend will continue. With this boom in construction also comes exciting stories of partnership, success, and much more! We’d love to hear from you and to share your stories in 2018. If you have a story to share, please reach out to Anna Molinaro at
